What types of acts are suitable for WRF?

  • Ren Faires welcome a diverse range of acts, including musical performances, comedic sketches, juggling, magic shows, storytelling, and artisan demonstrations. The key is to offer engaging, family-friendly and adult entertainment with a historical flair.

Do I need a specific costume?

  • Yes, performers are required to wear period-appropriate costumes that align with the medieval fantasy era, look professional, and compliment your act.

Are there age restrictions for performers?

  • Embrace audience interaction! Engage with visitors, stay in character, and be prepared for unexpected interactions. Ren Faire attendees love immersive experiences, so make them feel like part of the historical world.

Can I use modern language and references during performances?

  • While a touch of modern humor is acceptable, try to maintain the Renaissance atmosphere by incorporating period-appropriate language and avoiding overtly modern references.

Are Ren Faire performers paid?

  • While filling out your application, you will be asked to identify how much you are typically paid for your performance. This is to help us better accommodate you, and for budgeting purposes. You will also have free access to the faire for the entire duration of the event.

Can I bring my own props and equipment?

  • Yes, performers are required to bring their own props and equipment. Ensure that your items align with the historical theme and meet any safety regulations set by WRF.
